With age, there are so many changes which start to take place in our body. As we grow old, we realise that the energy levels begin to reduce in our bodies. We also get fatigued quickly. You must know that, these changes are not only external but they are internal too. But, you might have observed that, even at old age there are many people who are lively, energetic and full of life. Age is just a number for such people. Have you ever thought that, how do they look and keep themselves so healthy. This is where all your efforts matter. If you want to be one of those, then you need to pay attention on what you eat and also on your lifestyle. You need to improve your habits.

You must give away on your bad or unhealthy habits and adopt healthy one. Such healthy habits, not only keep you healthy but also keeps you immune against many diseases. Also when we move towards our old age, our eyesight as well as our bones too begin to weaken. Still the lifestyle and food habits of some people are such that they remain energetic and healthy even after getting old. If you also want to keep your body stronger in your forties and fifties, then adopt some special healthy habits.

Exercising on regular basis strengthens your muscles and bones. This is the reason that despite growing older, you still find yourself active and young. Because regular exercise improves your metabolism, and makes you feel more energised and lively. You can also adopt to yoga instead of exercising, this will keep you away from back pain, or joint pain which is quite common in old age. With exercise, the blood flow of our body runs well and the muscles also work well. To stay vitalised, we can opt for morning walk, yoga, pranayama, meditation or some exercise regularly.

Getting enough sleep is essential:

Getting enough sleep is essential to stay dynamic and spirited. If you sleep on time and wake up on time in morning, you will feel healthy. Good and deep sleep relieves mental and physical stress. Loss of sleep can speed up the process of ageing. In a study done by UCLA, researchers unearthed that even a single night of insufficient sleep can make an older adults’ cells age much quicker than in normal rate.

Keep body hydrated

Drink enough water daily, so that your body does not have the problem of dehydration. Drink enough coconut water, fruit juices and green tea to increase your fluid intake. Always keep in your mind, that for an ideal adult water intake should be atleast 1 litre for every 20kgs of weight.

Pay attention to your diet:

Along with age, you also need to pay special attention to your diet. As we age, our body gets energy from the diet itself. As you age, your body’s ability to convert food into energy decreases and start gaining weight in many cases. Therefore, it is important for you to eat a balanced diet, which must have include all, flour, rice, carbohydrates and also some part of junk food too.

Reduce Anger and Stress:

Anger hurts at all ages. Reducing anger as you age is very important for health. Anger and tension are the biggest enemies of physical energy, people who remain under stress at this age tend to look older than they actually are. Stress weakens you both mentally and physically. Many studies found that the stress which is caused by things like untreated depression, social isolation, long-term unemployment, and anxiety attacks can accelerate your ageing process by shortening of each DNA strand.
